HLS Healthcare Sponsors 2025 Altru Charity Festival

On 23 March, HLS Healthcare proudly supported the 2025 Altru Charity Festival — a vibrant celebration of community, wellness, and shared humanity. Held at Atherton Reserve Narmm in Melbourne, the event brought together nonprofit organisations, volunteers, and changemakers for a day filled with music, connection, and heartfelt engagement. By blending essential services with uplifting activities, the festival offered meaningful opportunities to support those in need while honouring the generosity and resilience of the local community.

For us at HLS Healthcare, it was a day that truly reflected the spirit of community. We were grateful for the chance to show up with purpose, lend a hand, and be part of something impactful. Surrounded by organisations and individuals committed to making a difference, we were reminded of the strength in unity and the power of simple acts of care.

Showing Up with Purpose: Our Team in Action

At HLS, we believe that true healthcare goes beyond the walls of any facility. It is built on connection, compassion and being present where it matters most. Our team’s involvement reflected this belief in action. Their support helped the event run smoothly and made guests feel welcomed and cared for. It was a team effort grounded in the values we bring to every part of our work — within the workplace and throughout the wider community.

Supporting Youth Through Sport and Play

One of the highlights was made possible through the generous donation of 300 basketballs by our friends at Basketball Victoria. This shared initiative went far beyond the court, carrying a message of inclusion, opportunity, and the simple joy of play.

In collaboration with Helping Hoops, we had the privilege of handing out the basketballs to kids throughout the day. What began as a small gesture quickly became something much more meaningful. The joy on their faces was a powerful reminder of how even the simplest acts can leave a lasting impact.

Sport has always been a force for connection and growth, and this initiative reflected that spirit beautifully. We’re incredibly grateful to Basketball Victoria and Helping Hoops for helping us place something tangible and uplifting in the hands of children—an opportunity to feel encouraged, included, and inspired.

Highlights from the Altru Charity Festival

The festival offered a well-rounded blend of live performances, engaging activities, and family-friendly fun that brought the community together. A variety of guest artists took the stage throughout the day, including a performance by Sam Fischer, whose music added to the vibrant atmosphere across Atherton Reserve.

Beyond the entertainment, the heart of the day was shaped by the incredible support from organisations that came together to offer services including free haircuts, arts and crafts and a gifting suite filled with clothes and shoes. With food stalls, games, and plenty of space for connection, it was a day grounded in purpose and shared joy.

Thank You to Our Partners

No event of this scale happens without a strong network of support. We were fortunate to stand alongside generous partners who shared in the mission and helped turn plans into action.

To our generous friends at Eastern Press, Basketball Victoria, Newellco, and FLSA — thank you. Your contributions allowed us to go further, reach more people, and extend the impact of the day far beyond the festival grounds.

Whether through resources, media support, equipment, or collaboration, each of you played a key role in bringing the festival to life. We’re proud to work with organisations who care as deeply as we do about community wellbeing and lasting change.

At its core, the Altru Charity Festival echoed something we at HLS Healthcare have always believed: that community is at the heart of everything.

While our day-to-day work focuses on providing world-class healthcare solutions, events like this remind us that our purpose extends beyond products and services. Whether we’re supporting a family through better mobility, delivering tools that improve aged care, or volunteering on a sunny weekend, it all comes back to helping people live with dignity, independence, and purpose.

The festival offered us the opportunity to step outside our usual roles and connect in a way that was equally meaningful and aligned with the reasons we do what we do.

We know that lasting change doesn’t happen in a single day. But with each event like this, we continue to build something greater — a culture of care, collaboration, and community that stretches beyond one weekend.
