Our CEO, Melissa Stehr has been named as a finalist for the AusMumpreneur Awards in the Leadership and Business categories as well as the National AusMumpreneur of the Year.
The AusMumpreneur Awards presented by The Women’s Business School celebrate and recognize Australian Mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation. The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
From becoming a mum at the age of 18, Melissa speaks about how it will always be her ‘favourite’ title to hold. Melissa is the proud mother of three, now adult, sons and is very proud to talk about her journey of being a mother. She reflects on the joy of also becoming a grandmother and the time she spends with her two granddaughters, and the ‘soon to arrive’ first grandson of the family.
Melissa is delighted to be named as a finalist and is proud of her achievements, particularly raising her three sons with her childhood sweetheart, Nick who she met in highschool. Starting a business with her husband and building it to the 8-figure business that it is today is something that Melissa is very humbled to reflect on.
“It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family”, says Melissa. She gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise, “Remember that this too shall pass”. It’s a quote I heard Tom Hanks use a while back and it rings so true to me.”
Melissa adds that, “Whether it’s a challenge or hardship, it is temporary, or an achievement or huge win, it is temporary. Take every moment for what it is and know you will learn from everything that you come across in life.”
